The mission of ENGI DESIGN STUDIO is to preserve Ukrainian cultural heritage and create unique interiors featuring Petrykivka painting on walls and decorative elements, Kosiv painting on ceramic tiles, and, in the future, Polissian embroidery incorporated into textile design

Філософія і початок стилю ETNOS U

Наталія Гоголєва:

«Я почала з того, що побачила: у світі Петриківський розпис часто сприймають як частину російської культури через спадок радянського періоду. Саме тому для мене стало важливим популяризувати його як українське мистецтво та показувати його справжнє походження.

Працювати над цією ідеєю я почала ще у 2020 році. А після початку повномасштабної війни це перетворилося на особисту місію — розвивати українську культурну спадщину через сучасний дизайн та мистецтво.

Перший проєкт отримав назву JYTTIA (ЖИТТЯ). Для мене це символ найціннішого, що ми маємо. Його головний меседж простий: Україна живе. І після найтемнішого періоду обов’язково настане час, коли над Україною знову буде мирне небо, а життя розквітне так само яскраво, як квіти у Петриківському розписі.»

The Philosophy and Origins of the ETNOS U Style

Nataliia Gogolieva:

“It all began with a realization: around the world, Petrykivka painting is often perceived as part of Russian culture due to the legacy of the Soviet era. That is why it became important for me to promote it as Ukrainian art and to show its true origins.

I started working on this idea back in 2020. After the beginning of the full-scale war, it became a personal mission — to preserve and promote Ukraine’s cultural heritage through contemporary design and art.

The first project was called JYTTIA (LIFE). To me, it symbolizes the most precious thing we have. Its central message is simple: Ukraine lives. And after even the darkest times, the day will come when peaceful skies return above Ukraine, and life will bloom again as brightly as the flowers of Petrykivka painting.”

A bar counter helps organise the space and support the overall interior concept.

The combination of different materials, lighting, and storage solutions makes it an organic part of the design while meeting the everyday needs of the residents.
