There are several myths associated with the city of Chernivtsi.

The first myth suggests that Chernivtsi is the coldest city in Ukraine, which is untrue as it falls under the temperate continental climate zone, experiencing average temperatures throughout the year. While it may be cooler in winter, it is not significantly colder than other cities in the country.

The second myth connects the name of the city to the black sheep. According to the legend, Chernivtsi was once a trading post for sheep, and the arrival of beautiful black sheep from the area known as "Black Will" piqued the interest of local merchants. They began referring to the sheep as "Chornivtsi," Over time, the trading post's name and the region evolved into "Chernivtsy". However, the story remains a myth, and the true origin of the city's name remains unknown.

Another myth involves a missing golden treasure, which disappeared from Chernivtsi without a trace. Despite numerous searches, evidence of the treasure has yet to be found.

Finally, there is a myth of a "ghost town" in Chernivtsi, a polluted area where ghosts and other supernatural entities are said to roam. However, there is no evidence to support this legend….👻
