People go to the mountains for many reasons but the most honest reason is this.

The world becomes too much.

You can be quiet.
You can be tired.
You can let everything fall away from you.
And somewhere in the middle of the trail you suddenly feel lighter even if your bag is still heavy.

The climb may hurt
but the peace feels like medicine.

Sometimes the mountains do not change your life.
