Are you ready for the summit of a lifetime? 🙌🏽

Day One:
After collection from the airport by our African Traits staff and driving to your accommodation, participants will be given a short briefing for the climb.

Day Two:
After breakfast, you will be driven to Machame gate (10,000 ft). We will start the climb through rain forest and the giant heathers for 6 hrs. until we reach our first overnight camp.

Day Three:
This will be a short day but rather a steep rocky and dusty trails to reach Shira Camp (12,480 ft) It’s a slow hike with plenty of breaks and enough time to acclimatise.

Day Four:
After climbing to reach the base of the Lava tower, we stop for lunch around noon. For those interested, we may climb up the Lava tower (14,850ft). From there we will go down for about 2 hrs through dusty and rocky trails to finish the day at Barranco Camp (13,000ft).

Day Five:
We start scrambling up the Barranco wall, at the top of the wall you can see the Barranco valley. We then walk up and down the greener valley, which is the last water point to the mountain.

Day Six:
This will be a short but steep uphill climb across barren landscape with lots of boulders and shattered rocks. We will sleep late afternoon in order to wake up at 23:00 for the summit.

Day Seven:
We will start the climb at around midnight. After reaching Stella Point we will finish the summit climb to Uhuru peak just as the sun appears over the Mawenzi peaks. We will be at Uhuru peak (19,370ft) around 6-7 am. We will start our descent, which is steep and rigorous via Stella Point to Barafu Hut Camp.

Day Eight:
Today’s final hike descending 4,500 feet to the park gate. We will check out and receive Kilimanjaro climbing certificate at the park gate office. After lunch, we will drive back to Arusha.
