We’re happy to be back in Arusha with Kafika House!

Today is World Birth Defects Day, which makes it so very fitting that One World Medical Relief are visiting for a week-long plastic surgery clinic, focusing on children with cleft lips and palates, burn scar contractures, and masses.

It has been wonderful to welcome Dr Brown, Dr Gerow, Dr Bakker, Dr Schnur and Dr Amis back to Arusha, and we are deeply grateful for what their visit will mean to our children. Thank you, One World Medical Relief.

The Plaster House is now Kafika House! Same great people and mission! We were happy to have been there and for Dr. Brown and Dr. Gerow to complete 23 surgeries for patients with cleft lip and palates and burn scar contractures!

What a team! Dr Brown, Dr Schnur, and Joseph the anaesthetist from One World Medical Relief, joined forces with Dr Mrema from Muhimbili Hospital and Dr Manjira from FAME Medical for our first-ever plastic surgery clinic in Karatu.

They treated a total of 27 patients for cleft lips and palates, and burn scar contractures. We couldn't be more delighted that this took place in our new home, and we're immeasurably proud of everyone who made it happen. Thank you, FAME and One World Medical Relief!
