It’s Global Day of Parents — a day that resonates deeply with all of us at Kafika House.

The caregivers who bring their children to us, often travelling hundreds of kilometres across Tanzania, are our greatest allies. It is their love and determination that make every healing journey possible.

At Kafika House, our children are encouraged to solve problems, explore new ideas, and create through hands-on experiences. These opportunities help nurture curious, active minds while also building the confidence and skills they need to thrive long after they leave our care.

Our facility allows our children ample opportunities for play and fun, just as childhood should have.

Our friends from Public Health Initiatives recently came by to teach mothers, caregivers, and older girls in our care how to crochet.

Not only is this a fun, creative new skill that engages the imagination, but it could be turned into a business that a mama could work on from home while continuing to care for her children.
