In a grant of Probate; only a person validly appointed in the Will by the deceased may petition before a Court of competent jurisdiction to be appointed as an executor of the will as provided under Section 24 of the Probate and Administration of Estates Act [CAP 352 R.E. 2002].

After appointment by the Court, an Executor will have to execute the deceased’s wishes as stipulated in the deceased’s will.

PROBATE is a court-supervised proceeding
that authenticates a will and approves the
name of the named executor so that he or
she can distribute the properties of the
deceased.
