providing a platform for local and regional talent to be exposed to the general public in a new way. We will achieve this by appealing to the sensibilities of the everyday man and woman on the street who would have once thought that indigenous fashion and art was inaccessible. Our vision is to support independent brands and designers, and establish the Caribbean as an international centre for independent design and manufacture. Architecturally, the Akimbo space covers 850 sq ft, resembles an art gallery and features an ever changing roster of a curated collection of brands, unavailable elsewhere in East Trinidad. In addition, we will host a programme of educational, creative and cultural events. The space will also be available for meetings and small events which Akimbo will plan for clients.
