Too late to post this reel since the first step of the Istanbul Biennial is over? Nah! There are two more editions to go. So, better late than never :)

The exhibition ‘The Three-Legged Cat’ made me think of the book Homo Ludens by Johan Huizinga, an analysis of the play element in culture published in 1938, where the author argues that play is a primary and necessary condition for the development of culture and society.

This was the first time I was able to visit an entire biennial in a day and a half. It helped because I had gone to Istanbul for less than a week. The exhibition was compact but offered the possibility of showcasing many more artists over the next two years.

Most of the works truly had the power to move me, to make me rethink what art today could be! Thank you, Istanbul, for always adding more to my never-ending story ❤️🧿
