Researchers of under-represented origins (Latin America, South/South-east Asian, Africa, and MiddleEast) who work in the field of Medical Image Computing and Computer-Aided Interventions (MICCAI) are barely represented in the community.

The RISE-MICCAI network was recently founded to empower and connect clinicians, young and senior researchers, students, engineers, innovators, and academics in low-middle income countries and build geographically diverse synergies and collaborations in the fields of AI, medical image analysis, and global health. This will lead to producing cross-continent research works dealing with global healthcare and medical imaging challenges.
