Takeda Deba is a V-edge blade which is more general purpose knife than single bevel Deba. Suitable for Western cooking and various tasks besides fish. 😉

Knife spa on Nashiji deba 180 mm Fujiwara Teruyasu - Recondition and Kasumi polish. 🔪✨🌫️🙂

Rust along the edge on both sides were tiny but quite deep holes that required some grinding on Ura. Also Kireha bevel was reestablished and kasumi polished by Jnats to make the edge shine natural steel colour. 😊

This deba looks so fierce to me. And it’s sharp! ✌️😁

Knife spa on a Yanagiba 230 mm. With Kasumi polishing and Ura recondition.🔪❇️❇️❇️🌫️🌫️🌫️

This knife had unfortunately been sharpened as V edge on backside-Ura. 🤔

To restore, the Ura was ground and polished from V edge to original flat grind. Also added strong uraoshi and microbevel on the edge because the knife was so thin.😉

Now Ready to go … ✌️🙂🔪

Restore a vintage Japanese Yari spear made by Saji. 🔪❇️❇️😉

Foundation and finish polishing were done 100% by whetstones and finger stones in traditional way. No machines, No chemical etching. 💯🪨

Very challenging task to keep balancing the blade geometry while lots of rust removing were required. Also made me recall a classical technique of polishing blade tip with NarumeDai. 😚
