ECO WIND

On 17 March 2026, under the ECO-WIND project (2nd year) funded by the ERASMUS program, representatives from CTU, QNU, CMU and PSU convened to discuss the training sessions to be conducted at PSU (Thailand) and QNU (Vietnam) in 2026. The meeting also covered the procurement of equipment related to wind turbine maintenance for each participating university.

With Home Wind Turbines – I'm on a streak! I've been a top fan for 8 months in a row. 🎉

On 12 February 2026, the first ECO-WIND meeting of 2026 was held. Prof. Khang Van Huynh from the University of Agder (UiA), Norway, who serves as the project coordinator, discussed with the project partners (Teltech, PSU, CMU, QNU, and CTU) the progress of the ECO-WIND project in 2025 and the action plan for 2026.

The main discussion items were as follows:

1.Preparation of the 2026 project report

2.Issues and challenges encountered in 2025

3.Procedures for purchasing equipment for the workshop

4.Procedures for issuing certificates for workshop participants

On 7 January 2026, at Chiang Mai International Airport, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Woradej Manosroi from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, and Project Coordinator of the ECO-WIND Project, escorted graduate students from the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, who were traveling to undertake an exchange research program during January–February 2026 at the University of Agder, Norway. This exchange was supported by a scholarship under the ECO-WIND Project, funded by Erasmus+.

The participating students were:

3. Miss Zulfa Hana Maulida
4. Miss Bernadetha Grace Wisdayanti

8–9th December 2025 – A Workshop on Challenges in Condition-Based Maintenance of Wind Farms was held at Quy Nhon University (QNU), Vietnam.

On 8–9th December 2025, as part of the European Union–supported ECO-WIND project, a workshop titled “Challenges in Condition-Based Maintenance at Wind Farms” was held at Quy Nhon University (QNU).

Participants included representatives from the following universities:

1.University of Agder (UiA), Norway

2.Can Tho University (CTU), Vietnam

3.Quy Nhon University (QNU), Vietnam

4.Chiang Mai University (CMU), Thailand

5.Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand

In addition, industry partners from the wind energy sector collaborated in the workshop and shared their expertise in wind energy technologies and maintenance practices. These included Central Wind Power Joint Stock Company, Vestas Wind Technology, and La Pet Wind Power Plant.
The workshop also provided a platform for discussions on the development and modernization of curricula at the participating universities, ensuring alignment with current industry challenges and technological advancements in wind energy maintenance.
