Whenever I go through a very lazy patch of not working out or doing the work, what is required is to somehow start the process of doing it. The first two to three days are really really hard, but when I get through the first few days, it becomes so easy and I look forward to the next day’s workout.
The same applies to my business. Whenever I go through a patch of not doing the work, I make an effort of sticking to a schedule and doing it for a few days and by the third or fourth day, it becomes natural and I look forward to working harder because the more work that I put, the quicker I grow.
Whatever you want to do, whether it is starting a business, content creation, fitness, etc, you need to focus on making sure you do anything to start the process. The first few steps are the hardest. During the first few days, we come up with excuses just to delay the process of starting because starting something new is the hardest thing to do unless your back is against the wall. Meaning, you will start the process if:
- You have no option but to start the process. If you lose a job or if you lose all your income when you have no option but to start it, that’s when you get the ball rolling
- If there is a deadline. If you have a project to be submitted tomorrow or in a few days time, you will definitely get started on it asap
Look at the many new content creators on Tiktok and online startups on these social media platforms. The thing they all say is that they lost their job so they did not have any source of income which forced them to start their online business which is generating more revenue than they can imagine. Or they started posting videos on Tiktok and they are getting brand deals which are generating them thousands of dollars every week.
Once you start the process it is very easy to keep the ball rolling. When the momentum picks up make sure that you continue to work harder everyday because the harder you work, the more progress you make!

What’s the easiest way to increase anxiety? By worrying about the s**t you cannot control.
- New legislations that could be introduced which could affect your business
- Economic downturns and recession that could happen in the foreseeable future
- Stuff people talk behind your back
- Being stuck in lockdown due to Covid-19
Every single day, we face many things that we can’t control in life and business. Worrying about the uncontrollable things are doing you no good but increasing your anxiety. You will feel much more positive and happy when you spend lesser time focusing on the things that you cannot control and more time on the aspects you can control.
Learn to adjust and adapt whatever the circumstances are. It is not the easiest thing to not worry about the uncontrollable. However, if you want to be free and happy, you need to train yourself to only worry about the things that you can control.
- New legislation introduced: find out how you can make sure you abide by the new legislations and come up with the strategy to quickly adapt to new legislations
- Economic downturn and recessions: cut down costs as much as possible if your revenue gets hit by the downturn and pivot your business to increase revenue. In any economic circumstance, there are always winners and you can be one if you learn to pivot quickly.
- Stuff people talk behind you: ignore them and cut them off altogether from your lives.
- Being stuck in lockdown: understand that this is temporary. Take it as a positive that you are getting to spend more time with your family and friends. Make the most out of the time you have off.
There is always a more positive way to look at the uncontrollable things you face. And most importantly, 99% of them are temporary. Understand that you will get over any problems you face and in time, it would feel like such a small thing that you should not have taken seriously.
