Reconnect-In by Celine Fontaine

Running this session at Boat Avenue and I am super excited to introduce more people to this practice.

What a powerful question to ask ourselves. I am discovering more and more how important it is to practice discernment in everyday life. I wish I had been taught this younger.

Week 5 in our new life and first post since we left Singapore 🇸🇬.

It's these small (but not so small) and hugely impactful gestures that make the difference and touch me deeply.

After 4 weeks at the MGallery Avista Grande in Phuket which became our very first home here, the staff gathered at breakfast time with this cake and this message to bid us fairwell before we checked out.

I felt sweet tender emotion move through me and I felt inside my heart the power of this human moment as the team gathered around us.

For 4 weeks we had shared a daily routine with the staff of the hotel, we had insightful conversations about life on the island and our respective lived experiences. We impacted each other's lives in some unforeseen way (maybe even unsconscious way).

It's these gestures that tells us we are seen, recognised, appreciated and that we matter.

Thank you MGallery for inspiring me and reminding me that customer service is all about connection and human moments like those. Yet for it to work it has to be genuine and it sure felt this way. That's real luxury to me!

What's that little gesture that we can do today for someone else and that will make their day, open their heart and leave a lasting imprint?
It might be as simple as a few words in a WhatsApp message, a powerful question in a conversation (that shows we care) or a genuine smile and eye contact with the cashier at the supermarket. And why not a sweet treat like a piece of cake 😉?

We're in this human experience together so why not make it a little sweeter each day ? I could sure do with a little more of that in my life.

I recommend parents and caregivers watch the movie . It's a brillant invitation to pause and think about the impact that technology is having on our kids and more importantly on the relationship between our kids and us.

... 🙄 [I can feel shame / guilt bubbling up inside me] ...😔 [followed by some sadness as I hear the voices of my two boys telling me "Can you let go off your phone?" Or "Not another Zoom call!"]

YES ! tech is impacting my relationship with my children and I know it deep down. It's too often distracting and stealing my attention away from those I love the most and who need me.

Those are some of the powerful questions the movie invites us to ask ourselves as parents, teachers, caregivers. It's time we wake up to how technology is disconnecting us from each other and learn to use it more mindfully.

I sure still have a lot to learn and this film was a great reminder of how important it is we each address this issue in our own homes. The future is in our hands.
