Som Supaparinya presents Melted Stars, her first solo exhibition in Berlin, developed from a long-term audiovisual research project she began in 2016. In this new video installation, she examines the shifting landscapes of northern Thailand and surrounding regions—areas once used as strategic sites during wartime to assert colonial and political power. Through filmed observations, fieldwork, interviews, and archival research, she traces transformations in infrastructure and terrain while exploring how memory is shaped, transmitted, and preserved.
