1998 年に結成された KACHIMBA1551(現在 10 名編成) のピックアップメンバーによる、 カチンバクワトロ。
構成は 4 名でボーカル•ボンゴ•ベース•ギター(トレス)•トロンボーンを組み合わせた スタイル。「キューバ音楽」と「沖縄」のオリジナリティーを絶妙なバランスで融合さ せた音楽が高く評価されている。活動は地元だけでなく、キューバ、アメリカ、カナダ、 香港、台湾など、世界各国で公演を行うなど、オキナワンラテン音楽を海外に広めてい る。
文化面では、キューバ日系移民を題材にしたドキュメンタリー映画「サルサとチャンプ ルー」の音楽を担当。また、県内の小中高の音楽鑑賞会や大学でのラテン音楽教育など、 学校教育支援活動も10年以上続いている。海外ではキューバ•シエンフエゴス芸術学 校にて公演(KACHIMBA1551)。ラテンのリズムと沖縄の手踊り(カチャーシー)で子供達 がノリノリに盛り上がり、参加型の公演として大変喜ばれた。
近年ではルーツ音楽として台湾の原住民族「Suming」との音楽交流を実現し、その 活動が認められ、2015 年 3 月に「TIFA 台湾国際芸術節」のプログラムに出演。2日間 SOLDOUT の公演が大成功に終わった。 今回ハンガリーで開催される世界的なワールドミュージック見本市「WOMEX2015」@ ブダペストのオフィシャル•ステージへの出演を切っ掛けに、カチンバと海外アーティ ストとの交流が盛んになりカチンバ主催のアジルーフェスでの交流が期待される。 来年初頭には「Suming」と KACHIMBA4 でのスプリットアルバムの制作、更に5月に 開催される CUBA での音楽見本市「CUBA DISCO」への出演を予定している。 常に海外へと発信し続けている。

KAHIMBA4 is formed in 4members of OKINAWAN SALSA BAND KACHIMBA1551,has10members in present.
The style of the team has been combined with 4vocals,Bongo,Bass and Guitar(Tres) and Trombone.
The music which made an originality of "Cuban music" and "Okinawa" fused by an exquisite balance is estimated highly in many points of view.
Not only Kachimba4 performs in Okinawa locally,they spreads Okinawa Latin Music to many foreign countries such as Cuba,United States,Canada,Hong Kong and Taiwan. In terms of culture,Kachimba took charge of the music on the documentary movie which made the Cuban Japanese affiliated immigrant a subject "the salsa to Champuru-“ A scholastic support activity such as a musical appreciating art meeting of elementary, junior high and high schools and Latin music education at a university of a prefecture also has been continued for more than 10 years.
In abroad,Kachimba had music performance at Cienfuegos art school in Cuba. Children in School enjoyed the performance of Okinawa Latin which teached them to Okinawaʼs traditional dance “Kacha-Shi-“ Kachimba got highly evaluation on the style every students could join and enjoy the moment together.
In recent years,the activity of that a musical exchanging with the Taiwanese native group “Suming” as roots music has been admitted in many points of view. Also, “Suming” with “Kachimba” appeared on a program of TIFA The Taiwanese international art clause" in March in 2015. A performance of soldout has ended in a great success for 2 days.
Kachimba organized and made the event “East Asian Roots Trip” where they invited many artists who, have met in abroad,to Okinawa, was so successful at June in the same year.
The production of Sprit album by "Suming" and KACHIMBA4 and also an appearance to a musical trade fair in CUBA held in May "CUBA DISCO" will be scheduled in the beginning next year. Kachimba has released 8CDs so far, and always keep sending their messages to foreign countries.
In this year,an appearance of Kachimba to an official stage in worldwide world music trade fair "WOMEX2015"@ Budapest held in Hungary will be expected having a lot of musical relationships with many artists in overseas,and exchange the music and culture in the event “East Asian Roots Trip” Kachimba organized.

Probably one of the most well-hidden concert venues tucked away on the 3rd floor of Okinawa Kinjo restaurant on Sukhumvit 69. We can only fit 30 people at very intimate events so make a reservation if you’re interested.

Artist Profile: Yusuke Shima
Trumpet,Flugelhorn,Flute, Producer, Composer
He started professional activity from 2002. His trumpet-style is famous like a "singing".

Album "Meikyoku wo fuku(Blowing japanease famous jazzsongs)" is released in Japan,2013. Live-tours beyond 100 a year were performed in Japan. The tour in Thailand (Bangkok Chiang Mai) ,it taken up by local media ,and he had great success. "NHK-FM"special program(for 1 hour, summer in 2014), was a big topic.

Many works are released as a composer and a producer besides trumpeter, too.

His leader's band "Shima&ShikouDUO"(trumpet,piano), songs of almost all past 4"albums" were written by him. As trumpet piano DUO , exceptional one, FujiRockFes07 appeared, got No.1 of the Tower Records J-JAZZ chart, released from Major Label(Victor), a heroic achievement was done.

The another project "SilentJazzCase" based on a groove sound , original album is released. Cover album"Jazzin'R&B" recorded an exceptional long hit by iTunes(Japan) limitation in 2010(2010 year rank No.1 of jazz section).

Additionally he worked in many livetour ,recording(albums beyond 300 titles) of an artist band, "Bluey(Incognito), Jin Oki, Lisa Ono, Ego-Wrappin', ParisMatch, Orange Pekoo, You Hitoto, Saori Yuki, Kenichi Mikawa, etc"

He also is superviser of Music label"MOS Sound". Every day ,he is trying for builting up a new jazz scene of Japan.

This special jazz big band plays Sunny’s all new arrangements of Thai traditional music as well as new original compositions with modern sound and groove. Be mesmerized by the astonishing chemistry between these charismatic musicians/vocalists as they perform an eclectic selection of Thai tradition and refreshing original compositions well spiced with modern jazz harmony and masterful improvisation.

Joining Sunny and Natt on stage with cutting-edge brass and horn sections are some of the top session jazz artists from all over the country. The group is also rhythmically supported by Chanutr ‘Hong’ Techatana-nan, one of the most innovative and exciting jazz drummers to emerge in Thailand’s jazz scene and Siriwat ‘Tae’ Pliansanthia, arguably country’s most sought after and top jazz bassist.
