French flair meets riverside charm with the launch of 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐉𝐢𝐦’𝐬— the highly anticipated modern French-Mediterranean grill concept by the two Michelin-starred chef.

Officially opened on 16 May 2025, the dinner experience marks Chef Dilling’s first permanent restaurant in Thailand, following his acclaimed residency at Le Normandie. The new concept brings a relaxed yet refined approach to luxury dining, blending Provençal comfort food with global influences and an open-fire grilling style that’s made for sharing.

Highlights from the launch menu include Noir de Bigorre ham from the Pyrenees, veal sweetbread and langoustine vol-au-vent with vin jaune, mini Kegani crab rolls, and marinated sea bream with green mango and coconut. Grilled lamb with Montgomery cheddar potato gratin stood out as a crowd favourite.

Desserts were equally impressive: strawberry Île flottante, banana mille-feuille, a chocolate tart “soufflé” with XO cognac, and a jasmine-vanilla soufflé with Nam Dok Mai mango.

With Chef George Kay as Chef de Cuisine, and Dilling’s signature attention to detail woven throughout, this new chapter at Lord Jim’s is a confident step forward — one that redefines fine dining for a modern, more convivial Bangkok.

It’s Mooncake time and trust us it doesn’t get better than the creations of Chef Andy Leong of The China House, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.
This year, Chef Andy introduces four flavours: Custard, Salted White Lotus Seed with Egg Yolk, Durian with Egg Yolk, and a brand new 2024 flavour – Mochaccino. My absolute favourite is the Mochaccino with its coffee-flavoured white lotus seed paste with rich milk chocolate and a crunchy feuillantine. Great with tea, brilliant with coffee.
Available in two stunning mooncake gift boxes: the elegant semi-circle Oriental Classic Box and the luxurious three-tier square Luxury Box.
Prices: Oriental Classic Box with eight mooncakes: THB 1,088 net; Luxury Box with eight mooncakes, a teapot, and two cups: THB 3,298 net
Custard and Durian with Egg Yolk mooncakes go wonderfully with vanilla and milky aroma blends, while floral teas complement the Salted White Lotus Seed with Egg Yolk mooncake. For the Mochaccino mooncake, try black tea with aromatic sweet spices. They work perfectly with a nice medium roast coffee too.

Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok's mooncakes are available for purchase at the following locations every day until 17 September 2024:
The China House, the hotel's Chinese restaurant, from 8:00 am-6:00 pm

One thing is clear: Chef David Cleland is incredibly passionate about the food he serves at his newly opened Tina’s, Bangkok’s first New Orleans fine-dining restaurant. The passion is layered into every dish he serves, from the cornerstone of Creole Louisiana culinary heritage, the Jambalaya to the epitome of comfort food, the buttermilk biscuits. This is an experience you want to linger over, savour, digest and go back for more. I have been to Tina’s thrice, drawn there by its incredible energy, the food that speaks to your soul, and the warm, inviting ambience that feels like coming home. No, New Orleans is not my home; I’ve never ever been there. It’s just that Tina’s makes one feel as if you’ve stepped into the storied, vibrant heart of New Orleans itself, where every meal is a celebration, and every bite tells a tale.
