Maison Rouge is a women-focused, multifaceted space that provides a supportive community and safe environment for individuals to learn, heal, share and explore. Living in Bangkok, where sex is a conflictingly taboo subject and female objectification is prevalent, she discovered a dire need to not only offer an educational platform for self-care and self-love, but also a non-judgemental place to ca
ndidly discuss and learn about sex in a healthy, positive light. Maison Rouge, a five storey building with an unmistakable red exterior, is situated on Sukhumvit 63, in the heart of Ekkamai. It is not only home to Madame Rouge’s Burlesque Theatre, but this location also houses many other facilities with the common theme of creating a safe space for and empowering women. Among which, a wood, metal and 3D printing workshop, where sets and props are created in-house for the breakthrough show, take up the entire ground floor. On the second floor is an atelier, where costume designer, Madame Rouge, creates one of a kind pieces for all of her stunning burlesque dancers, as well as offer professional styling advice and make-over services. There is also a photo studio with different packages and the option to include an all-women team of photographer, stylist, hair and makeup artists, ensuring comfort, privacy and the utmost freedom to express oneself in front of a camera. Themes such as boudoir, pinup, or black and white nude photography are all designed to help restore self-esteem and incite fearlessness. This multifunctional event space hosts regular themed parties and other special events including comedy nights and art exhibitions. It easily transforms into a dance studio with floor to ceiling mirrors for learning sensual movement styles such as burlesque, chairlesque, striptease, and voguing. Aside from entertainment and classes designed to encourage self-exploration, there are also education-based programs created to help individuals understand and heal past traumas and to feel sensual, strong and confident. Panel discussions and talks allow experts in different fields to share their knowledge on such subjects, alongside support groups to deal with more heavy-hearted matters. Once a month, this elegant space, designed to resemble a vintage theatre, provides the perfect setting for the exclusive and intimate burlesque show by Madame Rouge. This exceptional performance marries the playful and delicate nature of traditional burlesque with the unparalleled digital creations of their talented production team to create a sensual, seductive, and surreal entertainment experience.

“Burlesque is all about confidence. It's not about how well you can dance or how flexible you are. It is about telling a story and it is about the tease.” – Madame Rouge
