Job Title: Backend Developer - VAS Platforms (Value-Added Services)

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and program backend systems for new Value-Added Services (VAS) such as USSD and SMS-based competitions.
• Design and build database architectures to efficiently store and retrieve subscriber and service data.
• Integrate company systems with telecom operator APIs for billing and SMS messaging.
• Build job queuing systems and schedulers to handle timed or delayed tasks.
• Implement security measures and data protection protocols to ensure high availability and reliability of the platforms.
• Write clean, documented, and maintainable code, and participate in code reviews.

Mandatory Technical Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in Backend development.
• Strong proficiency in one of the following frameworks: Laravel (PHP), Django (Python), or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.
• Prior experience working with queuing systems like Redis.
• Proven experience in integrating with third-party APIs (RESTful/SOAP).
• Good understanding of security principles (Authentication & Authorization).
• Ability to work within a team and implement requirements accurately according to specifications.

Preferred Skills (Will be an advantage):
• Previous experience in projects related to telecommunications or mobile operators (Telecom/VAS).
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Experience in server setup and configuration (Linux Environment).

Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to manage and execute Value Added Services (VAS) projects over mobile networks using USSD and SMS platforms. The candidate will be responsible for designing, launching, and managing interactive services such as:
- Entertainment and educational competitions
- Marketing campaigns via SMS
- Subscription-based daily/weekly services
- Interactive content and information services
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop USSD & SMS services from concept to ex*****on.
- Oversee subscription, cancellation, and inquiry mechanisms.
- Plan and monitor Bulk SMS campaigns and analyze performance.
- Prepare detailed performance reports (subscribers, traffic, revenue, engagement rates).
- Coordinate with mobile operators, marketing teams, and technical support teams.
- Ensure service stability and optimize user experience to increase engagement and revenue.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, IT, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in VAS, SMS, or USSD projects.
- Strong knowledge of SMS Gateway platforms and USSD systems.
- Proficiency in Databases (MySQL/Oracle) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
- Strong communication and project management skills with high attention to detail.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
