47 SPLM-IO MPs Have Their Appointments Revoked by President Kiir

Juba, South Sudan – President Salva Kiir has revoked the appointments of 47 Members of Parliament from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In Opposition (SPLM-IO), according to an official list released today.

The decision affects lawmakers across the national legislature who were previously appointed under the SPLM-IO quota. No official reason was stated in the announcement.
