The lead investigator in the trial of Dr Riek Machar and seven other co-accused members of the SPLM/A-IO presented before the three judges the alleged roles and connections of the second to eighth accused persons in relation to the March Nasir incident.

During last Friday’s session, the investigator detailed the alleged role of the first accused, Pout Kang Chol.

With today’s presentation, the prosecution concluded outlining the alleged involvement of all eight accused in the case. The court adjourned the hearing to Wednesday, 22 October, for further proceedings.

‎The commissioner of Cueibet County Hon. Daniel Deng Mario has today resigned from SPLM-IO and subsequently switched his allegiance to SPLM.

‎In a letter seen by Cueibet County Daily News today, the commissioner, cited a seek for ground to freely expedite his political path within the SPLM party without negligence of having aligned with the opposition party, acceptance for public demand to quit SPLM-IO and fragmentations of the current SPLM-IO into ununited factions with different agenda and some denouncing peace which he said would not lead to it's progress.

‎Hon. Deng, was a senior SPLM-IO loyal to H.E Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon and had held in several SPLM-IO positions before R-ARCSS and after, his defection left an unimaginable gap in SPLM-IO.
‎SPLM has not yet commented on the matter.

The suspended Cueibet County commissioner, Mr. Daniel Deng Mario, has resigned from the SPLM-IO under the leadership of Dr. Riek Machar Teny and announced his political move to the SPLM-IG under H.E Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit.
