The government of eastern Equatoria state has on Tuesday condemned proliferation of cattle raiding activities which left one casualty in Ikotos County

Eastern Equatoria state minister of Information and Communication told media that on 1st April, 2024 organized raid transpired between two section in Ikotos leaving one casualty and several injured

Hon Elia John Alhaji said the state government condemned in strongest term the perpetrators of cattle raiding and theft in the state

He urges those involve in cattle raiding to ventured in other income generating activities such as farming and agricultural activities which does not harm one another

The government’s mouth piece underscored that his government will device mechanism to apprehend agent of cattle rustling and take them face course of their action

Elia reiterate that the government will return reclaim cattle back to their rightful owners

"We are also at the same time are condemning those carrying out organize cattle raiding and theft in the strongest term possible and urges them to abundant and peruse other economic survival mean such as farming, business activities and innovative work. The state government will work tirelessly to make sure that those who involve in organize cattle raid are apprehended and brought to book and face the full force of the law and cattle raided be return to their rightful owners”

The minister of information urges victims of cattle raiding to abstain from revenge as government continue to retrieve marauded cattle

He urges appeals about need to value peaceful coexistence and remain vigilant in their daily life

“The government of EES is also appealing to the people whose cattle were raided not to take revenge and remain calm, vigilant, value peaceful coexistent with their neighbors and allow the government to their part”

The minister made the remark on Tuesday during Press briefing with media fraternity

The governor of Eastern Equatoria state have on Tuesday presided over swearing-in ceremony of three county commissioners that were appointed in republican decree on Friday evening

The swearing-in ceremony of the three commissioners of Magwi, Kapoeta north and Kapoeta South was attended by state ministers, head of commissioners and other government dignitaries

HE Louise Lobong Lojore directed the trio political appointees to provide civic education to improve livelihood of the local population which positively affect personal income status

The governor belief that improved agricultural products contributes to stabilization of the current economic inflation the country is encountering

Lobong appeal the three commissioners to collaborate with development partners in their respective counties to foster developmental programme which align with government's priority

He echoes need to improve revenue collection which will be reinstall to extend service such as health, education and security at grass root

Representing the three commissioners, Hon Benjamin Polepole of Magwi County says their respective governments will toils to improve security and foster unity at the grass root level

He underscored that they will device mechanism to counter existing inter-communal violence which re**rd government’s development programme

Hon Benjamin articulate that their government will support Youth and women empowerment to ensure inclusivity

After swearing in, the commissioners were dispatch to their respective counties
