We the citizens of Upper Nile State regardless of our ethnic background, would like to convey our sincere appreciations and thanks to you for finally restoring peace and stability in our State.

We also thank His Excellency, the President of the Republic of South Sudan Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit for appointing hardworking and peace loving governor in person of H E Jacob Dollar Ruot.

Intercommunal violence, land related conflicts, cattle raiding and insecurity in Malakal town have become things of the past since the appointment of H.E Jacob Dollar Ruot as the Governor of Upper Nile State. We the citizens of Upper Nile State should join hands with our governor so that he accomplish the few remaining priorities in the state

TOP 5 GOVERNORS OF THE YEAR 2025.

1. H.E. JACOB DOLLAR RUOT, GOVERNOR OF UPPER NILE STATE:

Appointed on October 3, 2025, Governor Jacob Dollar Ruot demonstrated exceptional leadership by personally reaching out to the people of Ulang and Nasir Counties to restore peace. At a time when many feared even mentioning Nasir County, following the tragic killing of late Maj. Gen. David Majir Dak by the White Army in March 2025. Governor Dollar showed courage and commitment. By engaging directly with the communities and calling for reconciliation, he proved that dialogue and unity are the strongest tools for peace. His successful peace mission in Nasir and Ulang Counties rightfully earns him the title of Governor of the Year 2025.

2. H.E. DR. RIEK G*I KOK DIANG, GOVERNOR OF JONGLEI STATE:

Since his appointment on March 7, 2025, Governor Dr. Riek G*i Kok Diang has focused on uniting the people of Jonglei State, particularly in long-standing conflict hotspots. He courageously led peace missions to Akobo, Uror, Nyirol, and Ayod Counties, where these areas have been predominantly SPLM-IO strongholds for years. These counties embraced peace and unity, choosing cooperation over conflict. His dedication to reconciliation and inclusive leadership makes him one of the best governors of the year 2025.

3. H.E. RIN TUENY MABOR, GOVERNOR OF LAKES STATE:

Governor Rin Tueny Mabior has consistently stood out for his firm commitment to peace and unity in Lakes State. For several years, he has been recognized for maintaining stability and social cohesion among his people. His leadership continues to demonstrate that strong and decisive governance can bring lasting peace. Once again, Governor Rin remains among the top governors of the year 2025.

4. H.E. LOUIS LOBONG LOJORE, GOVERNOR OF EASTERN EQUATORIA STATE:

Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has proven to the people of Eastern Equatoria State and South Sudan at large that peace is not optional. It is essential. Through firm leadership and a clear commitment to stability, he has maintained peace across the state. His consistency and resolve place him among the best governors of the year 2025.

5. H.E. AMB. BOL WEK AGOTH, GOVERNOR OF WARRAP STATE:

Appointed on June 5, 2025, Governor Amb. Bol Wek Agoth moved swiftly to address insecurity in Greater Tonj. In a bold and symbolic move, he stationed the state headquarters in Greater Tonj until peace and unity were restored. This hands-on and courageous approach to leadership earned him widespread respect and recognition as one of the best governors of the Year 2025.

The first visitation of the Governor to Nasir was 𝐍𝐎𝐓 just an opening handshake with the civilians but a symbolism of hope.

The key achievements were as follows:
1- The contact between the Government and civilians was established successfully.
2-The civilians are now returning to the county headquarters.
3-The symbolism of the authority of Government of South Sudan was seen.

Nasir is a reminder that, in South Sudan, security vacuums don’t stay empty — something always fills them.
Sometimes it’s rebels.
Sometimes it’s opportunists.
Sometimes it’s fear itself.

So when a governor walks back into a place that has lived 11 months without functional state presence, let’s be honest:
It’s not just a visit.
It’s a recalibration of reality.

But this 𝑺𝒚𝒎𝒃𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒎 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆.
Nasir’s instability never come from thin air. It was born from:
