Deputy Chief of Operations at Bilpham Placed on Non-Active List After Meeting RedBelt Leader in Bor

Lt. General Kong Thou, the Deputy Chief of Operations at Bilpham, has been placed on the non-active military list, according to members of his family.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday signed an administrative order removing Lt. Gen. Kong from active military service following his recent return from Bor, where he went to oversee security operations and facilitated the transfer of Red Belt leader Leek Mamer Leek to Juba.

Family sources confirmed that Lt. Gen. Kong Thou will no longer be actively involved in military duties, adding that he is safe.

Lt. Gen. Kong Thou is a veteran officer who played a key role in several major military operations, including the capture of Nasir from the SPLA-IO last year.

In a message conveyed through his close associates, Lt. Gen. Kong expressed his appreciation and gratitude to President Salva Kiir for the opportunity to serve the nation.
