Authorities in Lakes and Warrap states have announced plans to conduct inter-state peace conference to end cross border crimes and hostilities.
The neighboring states in Bahr el Ghazal region have continually experienced cross-border cattle raiding instigated by armed youth from both sides.

Meanwhile, a similar peace conference is also being planned in Upper Nile and Jonglei states where factional conflict left hundreds of people dead and thousands displaced in the last quarter of 2022.

She is a south Sudanese woman, a mother,
And a pillar of hope.

When life becomes hard,
She looks for all the possibilities to save the situation,
She takes the family on her shoulders,
She is a South Sudanese woman, a mother,
And a pillar of hope.

She gives life to humans,
She not only gives birth
But also there to protect her toddler,
From fire, water and any danger,
She is a South Sudanese woman, a mother,
And a pillar of hope.

Do we sees her crying,
Even when her world is falling apart,
No ?
She stands strong in the storm,
She cried within,
She is a South Sudanese woman, a mother,
And a pillar of hope

When her matrimonial home is falling apart,
She tries everything so as to protect her kids,
She doesn’t leave until,
She sees all doors are close for her,
After a long endurance and nothing changes,
She is a south Sudanese woman, a mother,
And a pillar of hope.

She is protective of her husband, and family,
She guard her family with all her life from any harm,
She is calm and humble,
Her way of passing her messages is unique,
She is a south Sudanese woman, a mother,
And a pillar of hope.

Even during the hardship of pregnancy,
She puts on her amazing smile,
And stills collect firewood,
Do the laundry, look after everything and everyone,
She is a south Sudanese woman, a mother,

We names families,clans, communities after them,
These women are true definition of a strongwomen,
So bold, brave and great fighters,
They have fought alongside their husbands,
For us to have independence,

Nineteen people were killed and four others wounded in Tonj North County, during the clashes between the youth from the area and suspected youth from Unity State on Saturday 3rd June 2023, an official has said.

Warrap State Information Minister, William Wol Mayom narrated to Nation Prime that, armed youth suspected to have come from Mayom, Unity State attacked Akop Payam resulting to weighty casualties.
Mayom said the wounded have been transferred to Wau hospital for treatment.

The efforts made by Nation Prime to reach Unity State's government spokesman went unsuccessful.
