This appointment comes at a crucial time for South Sudan, as the nation continues its efforts towards peacebuilding, development, and stability. The role of Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs is vital for coordinating high-priority projects and ensuring their successful implementation across various sectors which will better the lives all South Sudanese.
You have shown unwavering commitments and dedication to the needy South Sudanese population through your charity work for the people who are affected by the prolonged conflict which extended to refugees, returnees, IDPs and Host communities through application of diplomacy, peace mediation skills, resource mobilization and engaging the international partners has greatly improved our Country’s image in hosting refugees from different Countries.
We have the utmost confidence that your leadership, wisdom, and vision will help influence policy choices and prioritization during these complex times given the cut on Humanitarian Aid Globally which came with inbuilt challenge of inadequate resources to support the growing number of the needy population due to continuous conflicts in the region. We at the Commission for Refugees Affairs believe that you have all the qualities to steward special programs in the Office of the President to work towards linking humanitarian to development context through offering durable solutions for displacement.
The Commission for Refugee Affairs as Government parastatal Chaired by commissioner, Hon. Gen. Bol John Akot remains a steadfast implementor of refugees protection and well fare of over 600,000 refugees hosted by Republic of South Sudan where your leadership can play an advocacy role as “Good Will Ambassador“ to raise at the Highest levels of National, Regional and International spheres of philanthropic organizations to support address the challenges of displaced population through durable solutions. H.E. GEN TABAN DENG G*I, VP FOR INFRASTRUCTURE CLUSTER, CONGRATULATES HON. ADUT SALVA KIIR ON HER APPOINTMENT AS SENIOR PRESIDENTIAL ENVOY
Juba, August 28th, 2025 - The Vice President and Chairperson for the Infrastructure Cluster, Gen. Taban Deng G*i, has this morning congratulated Hon. Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit on her appointment as Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs. This came when Hon. Adut paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President.
The Presidential envoy said she came to express her gratitude to Gen. Taban and to all liberators whose efforts gave birth to the Republic of South Sudan and who ensured that the next generation was prepared for the task of nation-building.
“I have come to you, your excellency to say thank you as one of the liberators not only for helping create this country but also for preparing us to be who you wanted us to be and believing in our capabilities to serve. As I take up this role, I will always seek your guidance and wisdom to help me deliver to the expectations of our people “. She said.
The Vice President congratulated Hon. Adut on her deserved appointment and praised her for exhibiting leadership in her recent speeches.
“Congratulations Hon. Adut, I am glad and so are many South Sudanese because you have the capacity, the energy and the spirit necessary to serve our people. Your recent public statements have sent a clear message that you truly deserve it and that things will move forward as expected”.
Among the pieces of advice, the Vice President encouraged the special envoy to arm herself with a team of young men and women with the country at heart and the expertise required for the job.
“To succeed, you will need people around you who are brave enough to share their view even when that view is different from yours”.
The Vice President affirmed his support and that of his cluster to ensure coordinated results in the interest of South Sudanese while emphasizing the importance of harmonious collaboration among government institutions.
“We must function as a system with effective coordination and maximum focus in order to build inter-agency synergies to produce results for our people”. The VP stressed.
Similarly, the Vice President highlighted the significance of the SPECIAL PROGRAM docket to nation building, stressing that nation building can only come when institutions such as defence, economy, health, education and infrastructure are strengthened through concerted efforts of various departments and stakeholders.
The meeting also set a stage for cooperation and coordination in the pursuit of advancing road networks across the country.
The two leaders agreed to engage in a series of meetings to discuss in detail about national development projects.
