The Abuodit Community in Juba is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of our esteemed spiritual leader, Emeritus Bishop Nathaniel Garang Anyieth Jangdit, who departed on February 24th, 2026, in Nairobi.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, the Christian community, and the people of South Sudan.
As a mark of respect, we have decided to postpone our inauguration ceremony, which was originally scheduled for February 28th, 2026 until new arrangements can be made.
May God provide comfort to all during this difficult time, and may His Lordship rest in eternal glory.

Death Announcement!
With a heavy heart, the Province of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan announces the passing of Bishop Nathaniel Garang Anyieth Jangdit, which occurred this morning, the 24th of February, in Nairobi, Kenya.
Nathaniel took on an evangelical mission to spread Christianity and made South Sudan a predominantly Protestant.
“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.” — Revelation 14:13.
May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.
