ArtLab.sr is in 2002 opgericht met de statutaire doelstelling 'de belangstelling voor Surinaamse kunst en cultuur in binnen- en buitenland te bevorderen'. Om de doelstelling te kunnen realiseren wordt gewerkt op projectbasis; bij ieder project worden personen en organisaties betrokken die de deskundigheid hebben om dat project uit te kunnen

On December 1th 2024 Suriname was shocked by the complete burning down of the almost 50 year old Balletschool Charlotte Sprangers, the building was around 100 years old.
