Tree of Saba’s world:

This is my uncle Gigo in Curaçao. He heals his horses with local plants and calabashes from the island, the same horses he rides in competitions across Colombia and the Caribbean.

Shot by , a cinematographer and photographer based between Paramaribo and Amsterdam. His work explores Black and indigenous imagery drawn from the Afro-Caribbean experience.

Every batch starts the same way.

The sea moss comes from the waters of Saint Lucia, wildcrafted, hand-harvested and sun-dried to keep every mineral intact. It still carries the ocean when it arrives, so first you cleanse it slowly and thoroughly — release the excess salt, remove everything it doesn’t need anymore.

Then the key limes, not regular limes. Dr. Sebi chose key limes as the only approved citrus because they help the body eliminate mucus, which is exactly what you want when you’re working with something as mineral-rich as sea moss. Spring water always, because sea moss absorbs whatever it soaks in overnight.
