Today, June 30, 2026, we are delighted to reconnect with our alumnus, Maxamed Xuubey, a graduate of the 9th cohort of SPA’s Blog Writing Training Program and the 3rd cohort of the Research Training Program.

Mohamed shared updates on his blogging journey, the research projects he is currently working on, and his continued commitment to learning and professional growth. It was inspiring to hear how he is applying the skills gained through the programs to advance his work.

We are proud to see our alumni making meaningful contributions through writing and research, and we wish Mohamed continued success in all his future endeavors.

On April 23, 2026, we had a wonderful catch-up with our alumna, Mariam M Sheikhow—a university lecturer and graduate of both the 3rd cohort of SPA’s Blog Writing Training Program and the 3rd cohort of the Research Training Program.

The blog writing training opened new career opportunities for her, while the research training equipped her with the skills to supervise undergraduate graduation projects. She also participated in the 2025 Institute for Somali Studies Conference, where she presented a research paper.

During our meeting, Mariam shared her progress and expressed her appreciation to SPA for supporting her professional growth.
