WUSME

WUSME President Barbara Terenzi led an official delegation for a significant institutional mission to China from 28 May to 2 June 2026. The delegation participated in the Global Mayors Forum held in Huangshan, where President Terenzi represented both the San Marino–China Friendship Association and WUSME.

The occasion provided an opportunity to meet the Mayor of Huangshan, and the President of the Huangshan General Chamber of Commerce, strengthening existing ties and forging new institutional relationships. The participation of Castello di Serravalle in the Forum reflects the long-standing twinning agreement between the two cities, established in 1999 under the historic presidency of Gian Franco Terenzi.

Following Huangshan, the delegation travelled to Yangzhou, where a formal meeting was held with the city’s Mayor, further consolidating the network of relations.

The mission concluded in Shanghai, where President Terenzi accompanied the delegation to a series of high-level meetings, such as the one with the SCAPPFC, that underscored WUSME’s active engagement with Chinese institutional and business partners.

The discussions focused on opportunities for joint participation in upcoming initiatives and activities, reflecting the shared commitment of all parties to strengthening cooperation between San Marino, WUSME, and the Chinese business and institutional community.

A General Meeting of WUSME was held on Wednesday, May 6th, in-presence in San Marino and by videoconference, to elect the new Board of Directors for the term of office 2026–2030.

President Barbara Terenzi was confirmed at the guide of the Association. Nine members will compose the new Board of Directors. Following the renewal of the Association’s Bodies, WUSME President, during the meeting, expressed words of appreciation to the outgoing Board Members for the fundamental work done in support of the Association over the years.

WUSME extends its deepest gratitude to the outgoing Board Members for their dedication and outstanding service— Dr. Juneja Joginder Singh, Mr. Daniel M. Ssubi, and Sig. Celso Alberto Cardenas Duarte — and is pleased to announce that they will remain part of the WUSME family, covering other roles within the organization. We warmly thank them for their invaluable contribution during this mandate and we welcome the newest member of the Board of Directors: Sushma Morthania.

The General Meeting was also the occasion to fulfill formal obligations and to retrace the main activities implemented by WUSME during the year 2025, through a brief presentation of the related Annual Report 2025.
