AMIDST CHALLENGES, FIRST TRICON CONNECTS MAIN IN TOWNSHIP ROAD IN KENEMA.

It all started in the year 2017 when the government of Sierra Leone contracted a 6.15 kilometer road rehabilitation contract to First tricon multi-construction company operating mostly in south and Eastern part of Sierra Leone with head quartered in Bo.
This contract was awarded as a result of government response to the 'outcry' of both residence in kenema and other interest groups that saw the need for better roads as compared to other parts of the country where massive road construction were taken place during the Ernest Koroma led administration.
On the 23rd may 2017, the company put it first asphalt (tar)in keomise that 30% payment was at a completion stage but that also failed.
In October 2019, after the general election that ushered in a new government headed by H.E retired brigadier Julius maada Bio,the government through the road maintenance fund administration called first tricon and other road construction companies that are locally funded by government of Sierra Leone to a re-negotiation table which an agreement of payment in three instalment was agreed upon by both the government and contractors.
In kenema another 1.5kilometer was added to the initial 6.15 kilometers which was scheduled to be completed on the 31st may 2019. Although the company faced series of challenges ranging from SALWACO waterlines, electricity pole along the right of ways, and Sierratel/ fiber cable the company (first tricon) yesterday completed the asphalt work along Hangha road and it will be ready for public use on Friday 31st may 2019.
For connecting the main hangha road with kailahun highway, residents in kenema during a phone in program on 'my area' program hosted on kamboi agriculture radio FM 92.3 Thursday 30 may 2019 commended the government and first tricon construction company and called for more in-town road project in kenema.
