In adolescent health, VCAT means Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation.
It is a training or educational approach used to help health workers, teachers, counselors, parents, and young people examine their beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors about adolescent issues such as:
Sexual and reproductive health
Teenage pregnancy
Family planning
HIV/AIDS
Gender-based violence
Drug abuse
Early marriage
Counseling and communication with adolescents
Objectives of VCAT
VCAT helps people to:
Understand their personal values and attitudes
Reduce stigma and discrimination
Improve communication with adolescents
Provide respectful and non-judgmental care
Support adolescent health rights and well-being
Example
