Day 2 Update: National Adolescent and Young People Bootcamp 2026

Location: UNITY Event Center, Bo City
Today marked another enriching day at the National Adolescent and Young People Bootcamp. Isata Turay, Public Health and Nutrition Officer from C-SEED/SL, actively engaged in sessions that highlighted the impactful work of International Adolescent Health Sierra Leone and the IBTK Foundation in empowering vulnerable communities.
The Today's sessions included:
- Career Guidelines: We explored the essence of a career versus a job, practical steps for career success, and strategies to overcome common challenges.
- HIV and AIDS Awareness: Comprehensive training covered causes, symptoms, and effective preventive measures.
- Governance and Youth Mentorship: Participants learned about governance structures and the critical role of youth in national development.
Overall, it was a day filled with knowledge and empowerment.

On March 1, 2026, the Centre for Social Economic Empowerment and Development – Sierra Leone (C-SEED/SL) proudly partnered with Mobility Sierra Leone to celebrate International Wheelchair Day at the Bo Coronation Field.
C-SEED/SL actively participated in the march pass, showcased the talents of persons with disabilities through music, and delivered a keynote address reaffirming our commitment to disability rights, accessible infrastructure, inclusive policies, empowerment of wheelchair users, and public awareness.
The event was a great success and strengthened our collective resolve to build a more inclusive, accessible, and equitable Sierra Leone for all persons with disabilities.

C-SEED/SL participated in an NGO Health Walk to celebrate NGO Week, organized by the Sierra Leone Association of NGOs (SLANGO) in collaboration with MOPED, aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and solidarity among civil society organizations in Sierra Leone. The health walk commenced from SOS School, Aberdeen Lumley Beach Road, and concluded at Family Kingdom, attracting wide participation from NGOs, government officials, and development partners.
The event was graced by several high-level government officials, with the Chief Minister serving as the keynote speaker. Other dignitaries in attendance included the Minister of MOPED, Minister of Social Welfare, Deputy Minister of Finance, Minister of Information, and the Minister of Youth, underscoring the Government of Sierra Leone’s commitment to public health promotion and NGO engagement.
At the Family Kingdom, speakers highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, physical activity, and strong collaboration between government and civil society in advancing national development goals. The health walk also provided an opportunity for networking and strengthening partnerships among NGOs.
C-SEED/SL was represented by the Country Director alongside staff members, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to health promotion, community wellbeing, and active participation in national civil society initiatives.
