تم نشر ورقة بحثية مشتركة رائدة بتاريخ 6 أغسطس 2025 بعنوان:
"Ethnopharmacological exploration and isolation of HIV-1 latency-reversing agents from Sudanese medicinal plants"
في مجلة Frontiers المرموقة بين جامعة الخرطوم بقيادة بروفيسور مصطفى ادريس من كلية الطب و بروفيسور مها كردفاني من كلية العلوم و جامعة كوماموتو في اليابان بقيادة الدكتور خالد محمد الأمين و البروفيسور شوجو ميسومي و عدد من الباحثين.

يُعد هذا البحث القيم خطوة واعدة، حيث يعرض مساهمة 10 نباتات طبية تقليدية سودانية تستخدم لمعالجة الأمراض المعدية المتعلقة بالجهاز المناعي، بما في ذلك فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية (HIV-1) مما يفتح آفاقاً واسعة لتطوير علاجات محتملة لهذا الفيروس.

يفتخر قسم علم النبات بشكل خاص بدور بروفيسور مها كردفاني في هذا العمل الرائد، هذا الدور يعكس دور قسم علم النبات في البحث العلمي المبتكر والمساهمات التي يقدمها باحثي القسم في حل التحديات الصحية العالمية.

Congratulations to the Department of Botany🎉
We at the Botany Orientation Program are delighted and proud to share this amazing scientific achievement by our distinguished researchers!
A groundbreaking joint research paper titled "Ethnopharmacological exploration and isolation of HIV-1 latency-reversing agents from Sudanese medicinal plants" was published on August 6, 2025, in the prestigious journal Frontiers.

The paper was co-authored by the University of Khartoum led by: Prof. Mustafa Idris from the Faculty of Medicine and Prof. Maha Kordofani from the Faculty of Science and Kumamoto University in Japan led by Dr. Khaled Mohamed Elamin and Prof. Shogo Misumi, along with a number of other researchers.

This valuable research represents a promising step, as it highlights the contribution of 10 traditional Sudanese medicinal plants used in the treatment of infectious diseases related to the immune system, including the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1), thereby opening wide prospects for the development of potential therapies against this virus.

The Department of Botany is particularly proud of Professor Maha Kordofani's role in this groundbreaking work. This contribution reflects the role of the Department of Botany in innovative scientific research and the contributions of its researchers to solving global health challenges.

المهم .. انا ما ح اتكلم اكتر من كده 🙊 و بس خليكم متابعين كلكم اذا عندكم نفس الصوره النمطيه عن القسم و علشان تعرفوا أكتر و أكتر إن شاء الله..
في النهاية هدفنا الأساسي إن اختيار الفرد للقسم و تخصصه يتم بعد معرفته التامه عن كل الأقسام و ما يكون الاختيار مبني على معرفه جزء من الأقسام و الجهل بالبقية
