🌍📱 Strengthening disaster preparedness through digital innovation in Seychelles.

UNDP, in partnership with the Government of Seychelles and the Chinese Embassy in Seychelles through CIDCA, has handed over 35 tablets to the Department of Risk and Disaster Management under the TIAEWS Project.

The tablets will support real-time data collection and information sharing, enhancing early warning systems and evidence-based decision-making. As climate risks continue to grow, this initiative strengthens Seychelles’ capacity to anticipate, prepare for and respond to disasters, helping build a more resilient, climate-adaptive future for all. 🇺🇳🇨🇳🇸🇨

🌍 Shaping Seychelles' Climate Future 🌱🇸🇨

Today, key stakeholders gathered to validate Seychelles' third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0), a landmark document that will guide the country's climate ambition, commitments, and targets through to 2030 under the Paris Agreement.

Over the past year, with the support of UNDP Seychelles the development of NDC 3.0 has involved extensive consultations and technical reviews with government agencies, development partners, civil society organisations, the private sector, and other stakeholders. Today's validation workshop marks an important milestone in finalising the document before its submission.

For Seychelles, NDC 3.0 is more than a climate commitment. It is a roadmap for building resilience to climate change, protecting our environment and biodiversity, strengthening sustainable development, enhancing energy security, and safeguarding the livelihoods of present and future generations.

As a Small Island Developing State, Seychelles remains on the frontline of climate change. Through NDC 3.0, we are reaffirming our commitment to ambitious climate action while ensuring that no one is left behind in the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
