Perm State University (PSU) founded in 1916, started as as one of the few 'classical" institutions in imperial Russia. Along the way, PSU gave birth to a number of educational branches, in Perm Krai. Today, we are the National Research institution, and one of the leading universities in Russia. In 2020-2021, more than 500 international students from 34 countries are studying at PSU, to mention Tur
kmenistan, China, Iraq, Morocco, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Colombia, Venezuela, Indonesia, Thailand, Republic of Korea and many more. PSU staff outnumbers 1,200 teachers and 13,000 students studying at 12 faculties on bachelors’, specialists’, masters and postgraduate programs. The academic staff includes 650 Candidates of Science, 224 Doctors of Science (DPhil), 2 Corresponding members and 3 Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). The University campus is comprised of 16 buildings, the College, the Natural Science Institute, the Mayak special design bureau, the Botanical Garden, 21 scientific labs, 4 leading labs and 156 minor class labs, 8 scientific and educational centers, 13 small innovative enterprises. Today, the University holds strong positions in international and Russian rankings: QS BRICS, QS EECA, THE World University Rankings, THE Emerging Economies Rankings, UI GreenMetric World University Rankings and others. According to Interfax news agency, PSU is listed among top 10 universities in Russia in the quality of education.
