REFLECT ON THE THIRD QUARTER
The summer was wonderful. Not only because of holiday rest, but also because of amazing increase of gynecology disposables sales.

In the early MedSil years, while attending international disposable’s EXPOs, I was always wondering what these transparent, similar to the duck bills, tongs are. The word “vaginal speculum”, or, if to translate straightly from Russian “vaginal mirror” appeared later, but seemed alien, because these mirrors had no reflecting part. But after we’ve entered the federal supplies field, it turned out that the “gynecology sector”, where the vaginal speculums are manufactured and sold, is the separate, particularly important sphere, which has many faces, and even it’s own heroes and villains :)

Our first speculum’s auction we’ve won in Decemef of 2015, but, to tell the truth, we didn’t know anything about neither different kinds of probes and speculum, nor the hospitals demand of this items. Since that time, we’ve learned a little bit more, but still, like Phileas Fogg from Australian cartoon, remember that “The motto of the wise is - be prepared for surprises”, because the competition is rough, and manufacturers are playing hospital’s purchase departments off against suppliers, like superpowers are doing with the countries of the “following” worlds. Surprisingly, all the speculums turned out to be very similar, but the marketing tricks, hidden in the technical specifications, help the angry nurses to request vigorously on the whole delivered batch withdrawal. Fortunately, usually all the problems do not extend further.

If we turn to numbers, only within the third quarter we’ve signed contracts for supply of 300 000 speculums and 80 000 gynecology sets (a set is intended for visual examination and includes a speculum, a napkin, latex gloves and some probe, like a cervix-brush, for taking a wipe sample from mucous membrane). And these we’ve got, despite suffering bumps and bruises in correct supply documentation fulfilment, and spending lots of efforts in correct logistic system organization. Not too bad for a start-up, but… nothing is enough for a human in this life ;) always looking for some more.

“Polymerniye izdelia”, LLC (“polymerniye izdelia” means “devices made of polymers”), a manufacturer, and its representative in Moscow, “Din-Medtehnika”, LLC, deserve our particular, kind appreciation. There are many nice manufacturers, and different devices are in our stock, but with “speculums from Kazan” – do you remember the advertisements of 1990-s? – “inalterably perfect result”.
