VESCH’s latest album «Passport» is an absurdist manifesto on identity in an era where reality flickers like a dying neon sign. Across eleven tracks, the band dissects the modern self: a restless, shape-shifting entity caught in the crossfire of late-stage capitalism, mass surveillance, misinformation, and algorithm-driven chaos. Each song becomes a new mask, a different role, another set of fingerprints on an ever-expiring passport. In a world where identity is constantly bought, sold, and repackaged, ‘Passport’ stands as both a sharp-edged satire and a frantic, danceable act of exorcism.

«Other Colours» spins like a mirror turned outward, hands listeners a third-person lens, inviting them to step outside themselves and catch their own reflections from a distance. The score came to life on the road - first in Belgrade, then in Rome during the tour, soaking up the shadowy imprint of these cities, their presence woven into the music with every note. The album features an outstanding ensemble: Daniel Izmaylov on double bass, Eugenie Piankov on piano, Ilya Kruchinin on drums, and Khramtcevich himself on tenor and soprano saxophone. Together, they create an expansive soundscape that is both exploratory and grounded, stretching, twisting, and reimagining sonic boundaries.

For the first time in many years, returned to recording music on tape, having bought an old tape recorder, cassettes and a synthesizer at a flea market in Jaffa. All the tracks on the album are improvisations recorded on a tape recorder and edited after selecting the material. In this work, the paranoid atmosphere inherent in Intourist’s previous opuses has been replaced by a light melancholy, nervousness has gone, leaving room for silly abstraction, and depth has been achieved not by building up a gloomy atmosphere, but by soundscapes, naturally assembled in a sunny Tel Aviv apartment.

Ivanovo-based outfit VESCH continues its intense self-exploration via psychogeographical perambulations around their hometown. «Factory-kitchen №2» proceeds through the haunted history of Ivanovo: a city full of early 20th century constructivist architecture embraced by the decaying beauty of ageing attrition. On the opening track «400 Apartments», the woozy synth wreckages ramble over the bones of a nihilistic bass pulsation, creating a perfect vantage point that invites listeners into the idiosyncratic world of VESCH. A junk funk skronk beneath out-of-focus no wave miasma and skewed glossolalia on «Cranking Thread in a Shuttle» and «Red Brick» are a welcome broadening to new extremes in the outfit’s sonic terrain.
