Hello comrades, I came back with my random postings about everything. Hope you missed that! So, lately, I have become a big fan of the UK’s brutalism and design. It is, in a way, quite pretty and not as oppressive as what we know from Central/Eastern Europe. It gives me the same joy as the one in Russia, with certain differences in aesthetics.

This is Barbican Estate, an attempt to create an urban utopia in the center of London to replace bombed areas after WWII. Not sure about utopia, but it definitely looks like a “green post-apocalypse,” which is cool.

Some facts: Originally, it was planned to be made of pink marble. You have to fulfill a lot of criteria and rules to be accepted as an inhabitant. Some Star Wars episodes were shot here.
