Project duration: 18 months. Project budget: 18540 euro The project „Keys for Inclusion and Success: opening minds, opening souls! (KIS)” is the first internationalization initiative for Tulcea children's Palace, a state education unit specialized in extracurricular activities, through which knowledge is deepened and diversified, various competencies are developed, depending on the interests, voca
tion and options of the children who choose to spend their free time in an educational way. The groups of students formed within the palace clubs have a high degree of heterogeneity. Students come from different classes and schools, from rural and urban areas, from different socio-economic backgrounds, they are of different ethnicities, and their abilities and level of training vary. We could say that diversity is at home in this institution. Diversity becomes a challenge and an opportunity at the same time. Applying creative non-formal strategies in the field of inclusion and coaching will provide teachers with the keys to open minds and souls. Project objectives:
- Increasing the degree of socio-educational inclusion in heterogeneous groups of students aged between 3 and 19, through creative strategies of non-formal education applied in the last 9 months of the project;
- Improving the motivation, initiative, and autonomy of students by capitalizing on some key European competencies to ensure their educational and social success, until the end of the project;
- Development of a collaborative framework (physical and virtual) for sharing, testing, validation of inclusive and coaching practices, in the educational community, during the project and in the long term. The improvement of teachers through transnational mobility aims at developing contexts in which students have the feeling of acceptance, appreciation, personal/collective success, belonging to an inclusive, tolerant environment, as well as the development of initiative, social and civic competences, learning their own way of to learn, motivated by one's own impulse.
