În cadrul evenimentului, curatoarea 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐚𝐜 𝐕𝐥𝐚̆𝐝𝐮𝐭̦𝐢 va susține un tur ghidat al expoziției, iar participanții vor putea savura un pahar de spumant în timp ce vizitează spațiul expozițional.

Expoziția 𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐒 investighează modul în care, în capitalismul târziu, corpul devine simultan marfă și imagine, supus unor mecanisme de expunere, fragmentare și consum vizual. Deteriorarea apare ca un punct de ruptură în această logică, marcând momentul în care corpul scapă controlului estetic și economic și refuză să mai fie pe deplin consumabil.

We invite you to 𝐀𝐫𝐭 & 𝐁𝐮𝐛𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬, the closing event of the exhibition 𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐒 at 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐀 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐭̦𝐢𝐮, taking place on 𝟐𝟐 𝐌𝐚𝐲 at 𝟏𝟖:𝟎𝟎.

During the event, curator 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐚𝐜-𝐕𝐥𝐚̆𝐝𝐮𝐭̦𝐢 will lead a guided tour of the exhibition, and participants will be able to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine while visiting the exhibition space.

𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐒 investigates how, in late capitalism, the body becomes both commodity and image, subjected to mechanisms of exposure, fragmentation, and visual consumption. Deterioration appears as a point of rupture within this logic, marking the moment when the body escapes aesthetic and economic control and refuses to remain fully consumable.

“The work presented in the exhibition reveals primarily the trace left by the vegetal figuration, creating an empty space, as if a surface of white sand had been excavated, while the greys and blacks suggest the depth of this excavation.”

𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮 (b. 1979, Timișoara, Romania) is a Romanian painter whose practice explores light, landscape, floral forms, and the materiality of the painted surface through expressive and textural compositions. He studied painting with Constantin Flondor in Timișoara and with Geoff Morten in Sunderland, UK. Scurtulescu is also a co-founder of the NOIMA group and has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Romania and internationally.
