Best practices, policies, and guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) can help improve access to prescription drugs while ensuring patient safety. Here are some key recommendations on how to approach this theme:

▪️Ensuring accessibility: Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is a means through which all people have access to the full range of quality health services they need, when and where they need them, without financial hardship. This means two things: affordability and availability of prescription medicine.

▪️Ensuring safety:

1. Regulating the Pharmaceutical Industry: Crucial in ensuring the safety and efficacity of prescription drugs.

2. Addictions: Unsafe use of prescription drugs can lead to adverse health outcomes, including addiction, overdose, and death that are combated through Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs).
