𝟐𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫, 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓) is bringing together researchers and academics from across Romania and beyond.

Organized by the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, under the 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, this conference is a valuable space for sharing research and ideas on the future of work and social policy.

During our academic mobility at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia), the 𝐈𝐃𝐑𝐋–𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐒𝐌𝐏𝐒 team -𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮 and 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐭̦𝐞𝐢 – together with 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚 (𝐁𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐋 @ 𝐁𝐔𝐄𝐒-met with experts from DANE’s Directorate of National Accounts — Cindy Johanna Ruiz Medina, Jenny Constanza Espinosa Agudelo, and Mireya Rendon Bernal — to dive into the Non-Observed Economy (NOE).

Why does it matter? Because what we don’t measure, we can’t manage. Hidden production, informal trade, and unregistered labor shape economies — and policies must be grounded in evidence.
