Am strans aproximativ 80 de saci, fiecare cantarind 10-15 kg, aproximativ o tona de material.

In anii trecuti, cand am venit la diverse masuratori, cainii statiunii erau foarte fericiti sa isi faca culcus in acesta, dar suntem siguri ca vor si ei incantati de viitoarea expozitie.

Revenim curand cu noutati, multumim Stațiunea Biologică Marină Ioan Borcea Agigea si domnului Erdin pentru extra ajutorul dat la incarcarea sacilor.

--------

If it's quiet, that means we're working – we're starting 2026 with an interesting project.

The other day we began cleaning up the space which, from this spring, will host a permanent exhibition dedicated to the fortifications built in Romania.

It will be inaugurated in the bunkers of the former Naval Artillery Battery Elisabeta (later renamed Crișan) within the “Prof. Dr. Ioan Borcea” Marine Biological Station Agigea (which, in 2026, celebrates 100 years since its founding), with the main theme being the defense of the Romanian coast during the Second World War and structures of this kind built along the Black Sea during the Cold War. And, since we are right next to the Marine Dunes of Agigea Nature Reserve, the exhibition will also include a section on 'Fortified Animals and Plants'.

In the first phase, we managed to remove various waste and clean out the layer of peat and organic material deposited inside, which had been brought in before the Marine Research Station was relocated back to its original site in Agigea, most likely with the intention of using it for a mushroom farm.

We collected approximately 80 bags, each weighing 10–15 kg, for a total of about one ton of material.

In previous years, when we came for various measurements, the station's dogs were very happy to make their beds in it, but we're sure they'll be just as delighted with the future exhibition.

We'll be back soon with updates. Many thanks to the “Prof. Dr. Ioan Borcea” Marine Biological Station Agigea and to Mr. Erdin for the extra help with loading the bags.
