For the 2nd National Day of Romania I made my first foray into Romanian folklore and even with the most representative piece, Ciuleandra, a Romanian folk song from Gorj area released by Maria Tănase in 1937. Originally the song starts slowly (85 bpm) in Horă rhythm and ends in Sârbă rhythm (very fast, 240 bpm - in the nowadays language of dijs and producers :) Long story short, Ciuleandra ends 3 times faster than it starts, booooooom! 💃🕺🇷🇴 Therefore, my work is divided into approximately 3 equal parts. The introduction is at a linear tempo as a warm up for the next two parts. The second part is marked by rhythm breaks that announce the beginning of the crescendo. The warm up being done, we move on to the third part (brass instruments sampled from Electrecord Orchestra, 1970) where there is no longer a break and the tempo increases to the maximum limit as in the original work. Control your breathing carefully because in the end you will be sprinting as in the Olympic 100 meters. #obordiscofunk #romanianremixes
