Everything we learnt from the latest fashion resale reports The TL;DR from the latest round of annual and impact reports from the likes of Ebay, Vinted and The RealReal? Secondhand sales are booming, but proving impact remains a challenge.

🎉 Big win for the planet: the EU has adopted new rules that make fashion brands financially responsible for their textile waste.

👉 Producers must cover the costs of collecting, sorting and recycling.
👉 By 2028, every EU state must have a scheme in place.
👉 Brands must also report how many clothes they put on the market each year.

This is huge progress, but let’s not forget the bigger problem: overproduction and overconsumption of fast fashion. We already have enough clothing on Earth to dress the next six generations if we simply used what’s out there.

📌 Uniunea Europeană a adoptat reguli noi pentru industria modei, care fac brandurile de haine responsabile financiar pentru deșeurile textile pe care le generează.

Ce presupune:
• Producătorii de haine trebuie să acopere costurile de colectare, sortare și reciclare a textilelor.
• Până în 2028, fiecare stat membru al UE trebuie să aibă un sistem funcțional pentru gestionarea acestor deșeuri.
• Brandurile vor fi obligate să raporteze anual câte haine pun pe piață.

👉 Este un pas mare înainte pentru mediu, dar textul atrage atenția că problema principală rămâne supraproducția și consumul excesiv de fast fashion. Practic, avem deja suficiente haine pe planetă încât să îmbrăcăm următoarele 6 generații, dacă am folosi ce există.

🔑 Concluzia:
Consumatorii sunt încurajați să cumpere second-hand, să facă schimb de haine, sau să aleagă piese sustenabile și atemporale care rezistă mai mult timp, în loc să cumpere constant haine ieftine și de slabă calitate.
