The Disorder of the Dining Table, designed by Sarah Wigglesworth and completed in 2002, is an installation that examines domestic space through the disruption of standard furniture typologies.

The table is fragmented into multiple levels and misaligned surfaces, replacing a single horizontal plane with an uneven spatial condition. This forces users to adjust posture, reach, and position, altering the conventional dynamics of shared dining.

By introducing irregular geometry, the project transforms the table from a neutral object into an active spatial device. Social interaction is no longer fixed but negotiated through form, distance, and physical constraint.
