✨Day 2 at PMI Global Summit Lisbon and the main theme: 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞.

Opening session started with Dr Nelson Ogunshakin FREng OBE, talking about giga projects: multi-billion euro initiatives, running over years, with massive economic and social impact, like building the Hong Kong International Airport.
Form where comes the biggest risk?
Not just the technical side… but the 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫. Governance changes, new agendas come in, priorities shift, but the project must keep moving.

Another strong discussion, with Kathleen Walch and Hatim ZINE EL ABIDINE , PMP®, PMI-PBA®, touched on something very real:
👉 how do we deal with the wave of new technologies and the fear around AI?

It’s normal. LLMs have been around for a while, but now they’re accessible to everyone. And with accessibility comes both opportunity… and uncertainty.

A few reflections from this discussion:
🔹 Continuous learning is not optional, it’s how these projects survive over time
🔹 There’s constant business FOMO and technology FOMO, try to make your own balance what to learn
🔹 Leave room to reassess and adjust, intentionally
🔹 Be clear on which initiatives truly bring value
🔹 Technology adoption starts at an individual level before it scales

And again… a recurring theme: 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 with Giles Lindsay (CITP FIAP FBCS FCMI).
Even with Agile frameworks in place, many organizations are not ready to sustain true agility.
Delays in decision-making slow everything down, and when transformation struggles, it’s often 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭.

Maybe the real question is not: “Can teams deliver?”
But rather: “Can the organization decide fast enough to enable them?”

Afternoon highlights also brought valuable perspectives:
✅ Dr. Joachim Dehais, TOGAF, PMP, CCBA and Adi Muslic, PMP, showed case interesting usage of AI to better understand your stakeholders in multicultural environments.
✅ Jens Korneck presented his experience in how to integrate PMO capabilities in an Scaled Agile setup.
✅ Last, but not least, Stefano Setti presented steps to build transformation capabilities that connect strategy with ex*****on and especially with the benefits of the final customers.
A full day of insights… and a lot to reflect on.
