Last week, our Ambassador, Giles Portman, had a packed visit across Romania.

🏭First stop: Craiova, where the Ambassador visited the Ford Otosan plant. The visit highlighted the close links between the UK and Romanian automotive industries - around a quarter of their production goes to the UK, where the Ford Puma has been the best-selling car for three consecutive years. With UK-made electric motors and transmissions, these vital supply chains are creating jobs and growth in both the UK and Romania.

🎭Also in Craiova, Ambassador Portman attended the International Shakespeare Festival, a truly world-class celebration of our greatest writer, and joined the Shakespeare Village where he explored this year's theme alongside artists, audiences and organisers.

🏰From there, a visit to Viscri - where His Majesty King Charles III owns a home - to see a special exhibition featuring works by His Majesty and Queen Marie of Romania. And great news: that collection is coming to Bucharest very soon!

⛪And finally, back to the beautiful village of Roadeș for the annual tradition of supporting Ambulanța pentru Monumente and the incredible volunteers restoring the historic Saxon church. Another year, another pair of hands, and a great deal of admiration for everyone involved.
